Slackware build of webCDwriter

Many PC's but only one CD/DVD writer? Burn your data over the network!

The webCDwriter package will transform your Slackware computer into a networked CD/DVD writing server.

The webCDwriter homepage is http://JoergHaeger.de/webCDwriter/ - click webCDwriter if you want to know what webCDwriter can do for you.

On my page you will find the latest release of webCDwriter as

Slackware versions prior to 9.0 will need to upgrade the oggutils package to release 1.0 if you want Audio CD support.
I rebuilt the Slackware 9.0 package for Slackware 8.1: get oggutils-1.0-i386-1.tgz (md5sum: c58af9a720cb95a1d0d864cc247c65e3) here!
FYI: you may also want to read the oggutils slack-desc description file. Also, I have put my SlackBuild script on-line which I used to create the oggutils package.

Previous Slackware 9.x releases:

Previous Slackware 8.1 releases:

Really old versions (up to 2.4.3 I only built on Slackware 8.1) are here.
Note:The SlackBuild script I use to build the package is always included in the doc directory of the package (/usr/doc/webCDwriter-{version})
Note: I also maintain the translation of the dutch menus and manual. Any questions about these should be directed at me, not at Jörg Haeger.

webCDwriter (a client/server CD-writer application)

webCDwriter can be used to make a single CD-writer available to the
users in your network.
The client is a Java applet that runs within your browser (Netscape,
IE, ?) or standalone, assists you when putting together a CD and
transmits the files.
The server stores the files transmitted by the clients, reserves the
CD-writer and controls the CD-writer using cdrecord.
Requires: cdrecord >= 1.10, mkisofs, mpg123, sox, vorbis-tools >= 1.0
